However, whether people have read the Bible before or not, it’s a great aid for more visual learners and I can really see it being used in an ESL teaching ministry to reach asian overseas students. Manga Messiah begins with the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies through the birth of Yeshua. It's a pretty accurate and faithful account of the combined narrative of the four Gospels which record for us the coming of and the mission of Jesus.

The team at Next Manga did a fantastic job, and the artwork I’d say is on par with other genuine Japanese manga. My only complaint would be that the book is “flipped” (or is it “not flipped”…) Traditionally, manga, even translated to English, is read right to left. When he first announced his vision, it was met with some derision, with other Christians feeling the books would be insulting to the gospel. That was supposed to be funny but in the Roman Catholic church they put a serious meaning to it and even made a very a very sad song that they sing during the Lenten season.
